Mahalet Solomon, the visionary founder of JEROCCIA Coffee Exports, is a remarkable entrepreneur with a multifaceted background. Armed with an engineering degree, Mahalet initially established JEROCCIA as an engineering firm specializing in Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering Services.

As Mahalet tells her story “I grew looking up to my grandma, who was a farmerette of coffee. Now three years later I see this venture bearing fruit driven by a lot of passion and reached to a point where I now own a farm and am in the process of setting up a coffee roasting, grinding and packaging plant. Our Journey with Coffee began with my dear old grandmother Emaye who raised me and used to be a much honored lady in our neighbor-hood. She was distinctly known for her strong work ethic and love for coffee. As a widow of a farmer in the country side, she taught me how to handle the farm and made me grow to be a strong and confident young girl. Back in the days, when women attended our coffee ceremony at grandma’s many social and financial challenges used to be discussed and solved. With that in mind, at my own coffee farm, located in the famous Arabica coffee growing village called Arbegona , I have hired majority of women and sponsored voluntary teachers to Arbegona elementary school ; so that I can empower and give back what I have been bestowed upon.In light of that, I have named my Premium roasted coffee blend Tikun after the name which my grandma used to call me.”
