EMPOWERING WOMEN IN COFFEE
At JEROCCIA Coffee we highlight our work promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment throughout the coffee value chain. Women play an essential role in our coffee value chain –they account for up to 95% of the labor in coffee production, from the farm level, to the cooperative level, to the processing level. In Ethiopia , women face significant barriers to their equal participation. In addition as giving back to the community we provide modern coffee business/coffee testing and coffee quality awarness trainings to interested young members of the local community during weekends and holiday break time.
WE CARE ABOUT ENVIRONMENT
At JEROCCIA Coffee we make sure all our activities in the farm comply to protect our environment and community we serve. Our farm is located adjacent to magnificent river called “Logita” and we took measures to organically certify the farm and all process to protect and conserve the lake. In view of our ambition to create sustainable and environmentally friendly business we are working on planting trees, production of organic honey, and soil conservation.
